Early Intervention Program
Early childhood is a critical time for development, and the right support can make a lasting difference.
Our early intervention program supports children across Los Angeles, helping families access consistent, developmentally appropriate support during critical early years.
The program’s main goal is to help children communicate effectively, develop functional language, engage meaningfully with others, regulate and adapt, and participate more fully in everyday life.
Enrollment is session-based. Referrals and consultations welcomed.
Who Is This Program For?
Our early intervention program is designed for children ages 18 months–5 years old who may benefit from an early intervention or toddler therapy program, including those experiencing:
- Language and communication delays
- Social communication challenges
- Limited play skills
- Sensory and regulation needs
- Feeding and adaptive skill concerns
This is often a strong fit for families looking for a structured toddler therapy program in Los Angeles that supports early development in a social setting.
Program Overview
Our program is designed for children ages 18 months–5 years old and is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 10 children per cohort. This allows for individualized attention while still creating opportunities for social interaction and peer learning.
The structure supports a consistent early intervention program, helping children build communication, social skills, and regulation throughout the week.
Schedule & Program Structure
Our program runs Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM, totaling 20 hours per week. Sessions are offered in 12–14 week blocks throughout the year, including fall, winter, spring, and summer.
Support is individualized, and 1:1 intervention is incorporated as clinically appropriate to meet each child’s needs.
Our Approach
We bring together best-practice early childhood models in a way that feels natural, engaging, and developmentally appropriate for young children.
Rather than relying on isolated therapy sessions, support is integrated into play, routines, and everyday interactions.
This includes a combination of:
- Play-based learning, where development is supported through exploration and interaction
- Relationship-based strategies (RDI-informed) to strengthen connection and social engagement
- Natural Environment Teaching (NET), embedding learning into daily activities and routines
- Developmentally appropriate behavioral supports that guide progress while honoring each child’s needs
- Total communication, including spoken language, visual supports, and AAC when appropriate
Our focus is on building functional language and social communication in ways that carry beyond the program.
What a Day Looks Like
- Small group therapeutic Learning –
Targeting communication, language development, and socialization - Independent & guided play – Supporting flexibility, symbolic play, and peer engagement
- Snack & mealtime routines – Building communication, independence, and adaptive skills
-
Embedded speech & OT support – Delivered in small group formats
- Regulation & transition support – Integrated throughout the day
All intervention is highly individualized, naturalistic, play-based, and developmentally appropriate.
Support for Families
Progress is most meaningful when it extends beyond the program.
Families receive guidance and support to help carry over strategies into daily routines at home. Parent coaching provides practical tools for supporting communication, regulation, and independence outside of the program setting.
Additional in-home support may also be available to further support generalization.
Why Families Choose The Nest LA
Care is designed to be consistent, integrated, and grounded in real-world experiences. Your child will receive support across multiple areas of development within a structured, small-group setting, allowing skills to build naturally through repetition, interaction, and daily routines.
Families are drawn to our approach because it offers a more complete and connected experience that prioritizes meaningful progress over short-term gains.
What sets our therapeutic program apart:
- More time for meaningful progress – 20 hours per week of structured support
- Integrated, multidisciplinary care – speech, occupational, behavioral, and developmental support working together
- Real-world skill building – skills are built through play, routines, and peer interaction
- Small, individualized cohorts – personalized attention within a social setting
- A focus on generalization – helping children carry skills into home, school, and everyday life
- A balance of clinical expertise and warmth – structured support delivered in a way that feels engaging and supportive
For many children, this level of early support can meaningfully change their developmental trajectory. Our goal is to help them build confidence, independence, and stronger connections with others.
